Everyone, it seems, wants to spend time in Austin. Is it because of its explosive population growth? Or its moniker as the ‘Silicon Valley’ of the Southwestern USA?  Or, perhaps, it’s the fact it’s the ‘paparazzi-free’ home to the likes of Michael Dells, Sandra Bullock, and Matthew McConaughey? Or maybe it’s the fashionable business-meets-pleasure-meets-hipster event known as the SXSW music festival that finds the Austin hotel industry rising to meet the ever-growing demand for unique and indulgent hotel experiences?

In fact, luxurious boutique hotels seem to be popping up everywhere from eclectic gentrifying neighborhoods to expensive downtown properties that showcase Austin’s infatuation with live music and the party scene.

So, who is Archer? And why did they set up shop some 25 minutes (without traffic) north of the very touristy downtown? They obviously didn’t want to miss the buzz (and the business opportunity) of being involved in Austin’s high-end, mixed-use development, The Domain, located in a residential-cum-industrial-cum head office in north Austin’s high-density neighborhood. Though bustling with high-end shops and restaurants, the quiet living area offers a reprieve from the crush of downtown Austin. Or perhaps it might be the fact that they’re frequently named on lists of the top Austin hotels?

The Archer Hotel Austin is the definition of Texas Chic

Ahhh, The Mysterious Archer. Just who are you?

From its leather-upholstered elevators and white oak-tiled wood floors to its rhythmic nod towards Austin as ‘Live Music Capital of the World’ as seen in its public hallways filled with black and white photos of musical legends, the hotel does indeed offer a sense of ‘Texas Chic’.

Local artists such as @kimerleecurylphotography (discovered at Austin’s funky EastSide artists’ colony) provide whimsical horse-inspired art throughout the Texas property. Curyl‘s graceful Wild Horses, “capturing the truest essence, spirit and rich texture of the horse,” gallop high above your head in Archer’s main lobby and peek out over your headboard in one of their king rooms. Iconic cowboy boots, no doubt from the city’s trendy SOCO’s Allen’s Boots, grace the next Austin-inspired king room décor.

Authentic Southern Hospitality @ Archer Austin TX

With six separate design concepts, hand-picked hammered and studded Texas leather and cowhide accents, nightly turndown luxuries including local chocolates and welcome gifts of homemade salted caramels and water make a stay in one of Archer’s Austin boutique hotel rooms an experience all its own. Austin Limestone predominates the brown-on-brown palette while local favourite Doug Salm of the Texas Tornados offers neon art, influenced by lyrics to Hey Baby and Que Paso.
